Interactive Fish Wall

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Responsibilities: Case Study Video Directing, Animation, Unreal Engine Development, Projection Mapping

That was the questions posed to us by The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. They were renovating the Dinosphere and wanted help turning an otherwise non-descript corner into a virtual fish tank.

First, we were handed a model of a fish from renouned paleoartist Bob Nicholls, which we rigged and animated. Then we utilized Unreal Engine and a Microsoft Kinect V2, to add interactivity and breathe life into the school of fish. Finally, we installed the experience at TCM and mapped the curved wall for the projection.

Then, once complete, I had the privilege to direct the case study video above which won American Advertising Awards in both Rochester and District 2!

What if dinosaur era fish were in a museum?
